Classes for Total Mind-Body Health, Vitality, and Inner Peace

“When filled with qi, the body is like a tree branch filled with sap; it can bend and flow with the
breeze, but it does not snap or lose its connection with the root. On the other hand, a stiff, dead
branch is easily broken. Thus the adage of Lao Zi, "Concentrate the qi and you will achieve the utmost suppleness... Suppleness is the essence of life.”

Qigong Empowerment: The 10 Phases

Discover, cultivate, and master your personal Qi

1️⃣ Our first series this Fall is...

  • Based on Dr Roger Jahnke's book, The Healing Promise of Qi, the 10 Phases of discovering, cultivating and mastering your own Qi is a series of six 1-hour classes.

  • This is an excellent routine to practice on its own, or as a prelude to your daily QiGong and/or Tai Chi practice.

  • You will learn four warm-up exercises to awaken your body to work with your personal Qi, the 9 phases from Discover Qi through to Dissolve in Qi.

  • Then we will put the 9 phases together along with breathing, self-massage, and mind-focus/meditation as a daily routine.

  • We will top it off with the 10th Phase, Transmitting Qi, directing healing energy to our own body or to someone else.

  • NOTE:

    • There are no prerequisites for this course.

    • Although all of the moves can be done while seated or even lying down, maximum benefit is achieved when doing them in a standing position.

    • No special clothing or footwear is required; dress for your own comfort.

    • We encourage you to bring some water or tea to hydrate as you need.
